Ometepe
Ometepe is an island formed by two volcanoes rising out of Lake Nicaragua in the country of Nicaragua. Its name derives from the Nahuatl words ome (two) and tepetl (mountain), meaning "two mountains". In 2012 I was on an epic backpacking trip, solo, through several countries in Central America. I spent about a week on the Ometepe island using a little, rented dirt bike to explore the waterfalls, volcanoes, natural springs, and petroglyphs.
